Magnet explodes

These are pictures from a catastrophic magnet failure in Georgia. Apologies to our colleagues who were involved in this situation - they're not happy about the pictures being published, but we think it's something we all should be aware of. We (at JDIS) do not know why this event happened.

The front end of the magnet was blown right off!

The magnet room was completely obliterated.

The equipment room was destroyed as well. These cabinets weigh 100s of kilos! The gradient cabinet is still standing - perhaps because it weighs ~ 2000 lbs.
