"Contents may have settled in shipping"
We're in the parts business here. And in the parts business, you sometimes see things get damaged in shipping. But rarely do you see something like this. Witness the utter destruction of the internals of an Impact RF amplifier returned to us, nicely packed, in an undamaged shipping box.
This is the shipping box. No damage apparent at all.
It seems to be pretty nicely packed. We have no issue with reusing packing materials here. We do that all the time.
We looked inside to find almost all of the internals broken or bent. Red arrows show damaged areas.
The red circles indicate where the large adjustable capacitor was completely broken at all four mounting points. It apparently flew all around inside this anmplifier and bent or broke almost every other item inside it.
This is part of the adjustable capacitor in its final resting place.
This is is the rest of it sitting on top of two other pieces it destroyed.
We seldom see someone destroy a part (this one must have been dropped a long distance before it was packaged) and then try to return it as an exchange item. I am pretty sure this one is NOT eligible for exchange credit.
