Here's a particularly ugly story. We were working on two jobs in parallel. The job in New York was stalled - waiting for power. We were in Orlando when the electrician called and said the power was up.
I asked him to check the value from phase to phase. He said it was 220V. I blew him off and headed back up to the site. On arrival, I found he was right!
The customer had installed a power conditioner from a Picker system (208V 3-phase output) in our Siemens room which required 380-480V three-phase power.
Not only that. The power conditioner was installed before the system. There was a row of several cabinets in front of it that had to be uncabled and removed to get access to it. Some 67 days later, the job resumed with a new unit. |
